Stoneforge Holt (Wolfriders)

Wolfriders are Elves with a mix of Wolf blood. Generally they have more Elf then wolf blood, and look Elven. Now and again, though, a throw back is born that seems more wolf then Elf. There are a few Elves that contain no wolf blood what so ever.

They have learned how to bond with the Wolves of the pack though. Just from growing up around them, they have learned how to understand the wolves.

The Dinaeh (Western Band of Humans)

The Dinaeh are Aztec-like in appearance and dress. They are patriarchal, but women do hold positions of power. Men tend to do the leading, hunting, fighting and protecting of the tribe, while women tan hides, weaving from plants, raising the children, and gathering plants and other edibles that don’t need killing.

The current Chief is more liberal in his thinking, and allows more power to females of the tribe. There are those who are still narrow-minded, and feel that they aren’t worth more ...

ElfQuest Glossary

Okay here's some terms that I could think of off the top of my head atm. I'll add to it as more come to me or people point them out to me.

Soulname - word/sound/concept that sums up all an elf is. Generally a secret name rarely shared, but always know between those who Recognize.

Recognition - it's a breeding thing. and happens between a male and female. semi-aware/intelligent (maybe), Recognition happens when the best qualities are found in two elves and Recognition demands a cub. ...

A group of Elves traveled much like Gypsies for nine and a half centuries. Some decide to settle and founded Seaside Holt. In the cliffs near the beach they formed cave-like dens to live and store things in. They quickly set up fishing patterns, and learned to hunt and farm in their new settlement.

Seaside Holt Elves live much like any coastal, primitive tribe of people. They subside on many marine creatures and foods, supplemented with farming and minor hunting. They have weaving of plant ...

There are two tribes that make up the whole of Reefside Holt; those that can breathe water as well as air, and those who can only breathe air.

THE WATER AND AIR BREATHERS

Those who live in the water are quite capable of breathing air and living on land, lower extremities aside for those with out legs. They are more graceful in water then on land. Some look like normal elves, only with webbing between their fingers and toes, gills, and maybe web-like pointed ears. Some do have ...

Most all Flyers are related to some degree, so I am not going to put down anything but direct line (grandparents, parents, siblings, children) The Memory Keeper keeps track of who is safe to breed with who. Recognition trumps any blood laws, of course, even to those forbidden to breed like Nightfox.

Due to old wars to promote one bloodline over another nowadays Nightflyers children are raised together by Hearth Cub Sitters and Sage Teachers, their bloodline is traced through the female ...
